On the Trek FAQ

Life on the mountain is unique and requires some adjustment. Here is what you can expect during your days on the trail.
What is the daily routine?
A typical day starts around 6:30 AM with a warm wash basin and tea or coffee served at your tent. Breakfast is around 7:30 AM, and we hit the trail by 8:30 AM. After 4-6 hours of hiking, we reach the next camp where lunch is served. The afternoon is for resting, acclimatization walks, and dinner at 7:00 PM.
What kind of food is served?
We take nutrition seriously. You will be served three hot meals a day, plus snacks. Breakfast includes porridge, eggs, toast, and fruit. Lunch and dinner feature soups, pasta, rice, chicken, beef, and plenty of vegetables. We cater to all dietary requirements—just let us know in advance!
Where do we sleep?
You will sleep in high-quality, four-season mountain tents (usually two people per tent). We provide comfortable sleeping mats, but you will need your own four-season sleeping bag (or rent one from us).
What are the toilet facilities like?
On most routes, we use the public long-drop toilets at the campsites. However, RAO Tours providesprivate chemical portable toilets for our groups, which are much cleaner and more comfortable.
How do we get drinking water?
Our porters collect water from mountain streams, which is then boiled and filtered before being provided to you for your hydration bladders and bottles.
